Cosmic Perspective

A long overdue giftart for . <3 See, I'm making progress on the stack of art I owe people! It only took me several months to get there!

This, of course, is NaKaranth. Out of all of Trilly's characters, I think I have the softest spot for her loveably eccentric alien mechanic. And I've drawn him many times before, but I haven't been happy with a single one of those attempts. Trilly's style is hard to translate. >.> So, this time, I used a whole stack of references — Trilly's drawings, still-life models, and a certain Homunculus from a manga (*cough*) — and sat down, determined to end up with something that didn't just look like an okay-humanoid-type-thing-in-my-style, but something that looked like NaKaranth.

...I think it was worth it. ^_^ But I really don't want to think about how long I spent on this picture (particularly once you add in the amount of time it took for me to draw the northern lights effect and stuff). But on the plus side, shiny! And purple! And stuff!

(Also, it strikes me that since NaKaranth used to be an Alien Aisha, this is kind of the second picture I've done where there's an Alien Aisha standing against a sparkly purple sky looking cool. ...I don't even like purple.)
